Answers - Pickems
1. What version of mySQL is needed for php Pickems?

php Pickems was coded and tested with mySQL 5.0 and with GoDaddy hosting. When creating a database before installing, you must use 5.0 to make sure all the code syntax works properly. Your hosting must be on a Linux server as well.

2. Can my players make picks online so I don't have to enter their picks by hand?

Yes! Everyone in your league must have Internet Access to play this, unless the commissioner doesn't mind submitting your picks manually inside mySQL. All you need to do is get the League ID from the commissioner who is running the league, and then Signup with a Username and Password at the League's home page. The matchups are already laid out for you at the League homepage, so all you have to do is input your User/Pass and chose which teams you predict to win. IT'S THAT SIMPLE! Your picks will automatically be added to the Results Page and you just sit back and enjoy.

3. What "tie breaker" methods are available?

php Pickem actually requires every player to predict the score of the current weeks MNF (Monday Night Football) game. The code calculates who was closest to the actual score regardless of a tie or not. If there is a tie, the code will display whoever was closest to the actual NFL score at the top of the charts.

4. How many players can I have in my league?

Once you purchase your copy of php Pickems, you can have unlimited number of players join your league. The more that join, the bigger the pot you can make.

5. How do I register my copy of "php Pickem" & what do I get for registering?

Click here to find out all about registration. Once purchased, you may install this script on any domains that you own.

6. Does php Pickems support NFL spreads?

At this time, no. We will have the option of playing with spreads in a future release, most likely next year.

2: Can players Sign Up for squares online so I don"t have to keep track at all?

Yes! Everyone in your league must have Internet Access to play this, unless the commissioner doesn't mind signing up for squares for you. All someone has to do is go to your league page and all the squares will be laid out for them and they can sign up for as many squares as they want. 3: Why are my squares "Pending" still?

The commissioner running the league must go in and click "Confirm" for you. Usually this isn't done until payment has been received. If you've paid and still see your squares as "Pending" contact the commish and tell him to change your squares to "Confirmed".

Yes! With the latest version you now can up sign up for a square and then choose to make it a "Season Ticket". You will have to pay for the square for the whole season up front but your square will show a little icon
